3rd Grade Salvadori Bridges

The 3rd Grade worked with Salvadori Bridges to learn about the different types of bridges that can be found around the world. The students began the unit by learning about how many bridges there are in New York (OVER 2,000!!!!). Then, students learned about the different components of a bridge. Students were then shown how to build a suspension bridge, an arch bridge, and a truss bridge. The project culminated with students in each class working to build a six-foot suspension bridge.
